0 From London

So many things happened just within the span of 4 days. The first night was the most epic of all, which saw Mum experiencing some encounters of the third kind, a heated argument with the hotel's manager and checking into another hotel at 1 am.

On the second day, we tried our luck and thanks be to God, we could check into Great Dover Street Apartments, my accommodation for the semester, early. The room is so much better than the pigeon hole PGP - it's double the size, has an en-suite toilet, lots of shelf space and a large working table. The only complaint is that the maximum temperature the heater can go up to is 21 degrees, which according to Singapore's standards, is winter. I suppose Londoners are used to the colder weather here so their heater operates at a lower range.

On the third day (yesterday), the morning was spent running around the different building's at Guy's campus trying to sort out admin matters and why I had not received any email for online enrollment. It was good exercise and a great opportunity to explore the campus, although in the end the matter wasn't settled and I still don't have my online enrollment email and KCL student ID. Boo. The afternoon, we rackyed the Borough neighbourhood and did a hell lot grocery shopping, from Sainsbury to Tesco to Lidl's.

And today, it was to Victoria to sort out my SIM card (it was stuck in the slot), the coach station to familiarize ourselves before we depart for Edinburgh tomorrow morning. Then, Cantonese food at Soho for lunch, followed by a trip down to Knightsbridge to see the (in)famous Harrods.

And tomorrow the actual adventure shall begin in Edinburgh!

Some things I have observed over the past few days:
- Londoners walk fast, like super fast, comparable to the Hongkies.
- You have to keep right on the escalators and keep the left lane clear for those who are in a hurry. This is confusing - don't they follow right-hand drive and so the right-lane should be the clear lane?
-  Berries are super duper wooper cheap and super duper wooper sweet. Have you ever seen deals like 2 packets of berries (choice of bluebs/rasps/strawbs) for 3 pounds? And they are big punnets, mind you!
- If berries are cheap, yogurt is even cheaper. Activia 4-pack for 3 pounds?! Singapore has an inflation rate of 200%!
- In trains, Singaporeans bury their noses in their mobile phones; Londoners bury their noses in newspapers.

Ok, a short post that is not worthy of the amazing time here so far but I have to sleepy weepy so that I'll be energetic for Edinburgh! Wooties!
